At the
age of 51,
Yuri Gorbachev has the
exuberant energy of an adolescent, and the
profound talent for capturing that energy on canvas. Yuri revels
in the work of Picasso, whose influence often surfaces in his
work. Gorbachev's work is represented in more than twenty museums
in the former Soviet Union, the United States and Europe
including the Louvre in Paris. He has been recognized
internationally since 1972, with numerous one man shows
throughout the world. Yuri was selected for the creative
advertising campaigns of Absolut and Stolichnaya Vodkas, which
featured his work in over 100 prominent magazines annually. *Also, the
World Federation of the United Nations Association commissioned
Yuri to paint a first day cover "The Parrot" that was published in
conjunction with the Wildlife Endangered Species Series to help celebrate its 50th anniversary. The
"The Parrot" has been published as lithographs which we are also
featuring.
