Documented Reliquary with a Passion Relic of the True Cross of Jesus Christ

Opulent Baroque 18th century large silver pendant reliquary decorated by intricate open-work filigree scrolls and applied rosettes containing a double-crystal cruciform theca housing substantial particles of the True Cross of Jesus Christ. Authenticated with red seal of Spanish wax with inprint of a coat of arms of Cardinal Giulio Maria della Somaglia (†1830). The reliquary comes with an original matching Vatican-issued authentics document signed by Monsignor Somaglia in 1796 in a capacity of the Vicar General of Rome (1795–1818).
