An unusual large open-front French Jesuit cruciform box reliquary housing sizable particle relics of the Precious Wood from the True Cross of Jesus Christ. The precious relics are displayed in a cruciform shape in the center of the cross surrounded by an intricate pattern of gilt paperolle ornamentation with a christogram IHS made out of rolled paper directly under the relic forming a symbol of the Society of Jesus (commonly known as the Jesuit Order). Crucifix Reliquary with 35 relics of the Christ's Passion, the Holy Family, Apostles & selected Christian Saints

Finely cast gilt bronze crucifix reliquary decorated with images of Arma Christi and a realistically modeled figure of crucified Christ, housing 35 relics of the Christ's Passion, the Holy Family, Apostles, and selected Christian Saints. The reliquary opens by removal of the bottom screw, revealing an inner glass-fronted insert housing the relics identified in Latin on typeset ceduale labels. On the back, the insert is secured by two seals of red Spanish wax with a partial imprint of a coat of arms of Fr. Francesco Marinelli, O.E.S.A. (†1887), Titular Bishop of Porphyreon and the Sacristan of the Apostolic Curia (1856-1887).
