Documented reliquary with relics of Blessed Amadeus, Duke of Savoy

Round glass-fronted reliquary theca dating to 1920's housing first class ex ossibus (from the bone) relics of Blessed Amadeus of Savoy. The relics are affixed to a red silk background and identified on a typographic cedula as B. Amedeo di Savoia (Blessed Amadeus of Savoy). On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is protected by a seal of red wax with a perfectly preserved imprint of a coat of arms of cardinal Basilio Pompilj (†1931), Vicar General of the Roman Curia (1913-1931). The reliquary is accompanied by the original matching authentics document under a coat of arms of Pope Pius XI, issued by Monsignor  Basilio Pompilj and dated 1929.

The Blessed Amadeus IX (†1472), nicknamed the Happy, was the Duke of Savoy from 1465 to 1472 and was known for his charity and concern for the poor. He was beatified in 1677 by Pope Innocent XI. The Catholic Church venerates him with a liturgical feast on March 30.
