Documented theca with relics of St. Paul, Prince of the Apostles

Oval silver glass-fronted theca housing substantial first-class ex ossibus relic of Saint Paul, the Apostle. The relic is affixed to a silk background and identified on a manuscript cedula label as S. Pauli Ap. (Saint Paul, Apostle).  On the back,  the theca is secured by a seal of red Spanish wax with an imprint of a coat of arms of  Giorgio Maria de Lascaris C.R. (†1795), Titular Patriarch of Jerusalem (1762-1795) and consultant to the Congregation for Indulgences and Sacred Relics in the Roman Curia responsible he task of managing the granting of authentication to the relics. The theca is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and hand-signed by Patriarch de Lascaris in 1764, 

Saint Paul († AD 67), was an Apostle who taught the gospel of the Christ to the first century world and is generally considered one of the most important figures of the Apostolic Age founding several churches in Asia Minor and Europe. The Roman Martyrology assigns 29 June as the feast day of both Apostles Peter and Paul.
