Finely cast bronze crucifix cross with a realistically rendered image of the Savior, containing a cruciform reliquary that houses relics of the True Cross and 44 other relics. The relics are affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on fancy typeset cedulae labels. On the back, the theca is secured with five perfectly preserved seals of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of Archbishop Antonio Ligi-Bussi O.F.M. Conv. (†1862), Titular Archbishop of Iconium (1851-1862), Consultor of the Congregation for Indulgences and Holy Relics (1852–1862), and bearing a paper label of Society Mariana (The Marian Society) in Rome, Italy.
