1983 Documented reliquary theca with relics of St. Mariam Baouardy (Mary of Jesus Crucified) مريم بواردي

Round glass-fronted yellow-metal reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus  (of the bone) pre-canonization relic of St. Mariam Baouardy. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as B. Maria a J. Crucifixo (Blessed Mary of Jesus Crucified).  On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Order of the Discalced Carmelites of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel. The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued on November 13, 1983 (the day of her beatification)  by the Postulator General of the Order.

Saint Mariam Baouardy (Arabic: مريم بواردي, also known as Mary of Jesus Crucified) (†1878), was a Discalced Carmelite nun of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church, one of seven Discalced Carmelite nuns to have been declared saints. Born to Palestinian Greek Catholic parents from the town of Hurfiesh in upper Galilee, later moved to I’billin, she was known for her service to the poor. In addition, she became a Christian mystic who suffered the stigmata and has been canonized by the Catholic Church. She was beatified on 13 November 1983 by Pope John Paul II and canonized on 17 May 2015 by Pope Francis. Her feast is commemorated on 26 August.
