Theca with relic of Saint Philip Neri, the Apostle of Rome

Oval gold glass-fronted reliquary theca, containing first-class ex tela unbuta sanguis (ex gauze soaked in blood) relic of Saint Philip Neri, the Apostle of Rome. The relic is affixed to a twelve-ray paper star on a red silk background and is titled on a fancy cut paper cedula as S. Philippi Ner. The back of the theca is secured by a perfectly preserved seal of red Spanish wax with a depiction of St. Hubertus.

St. Philip Romolo Neri, († 1595), known as the Apostle of Rome, was an Italian priest noted for founding a society of secular clergy called the Congregation of the Oratory of Filippo Neri. Patron of Rome, Mandaluyong, US Special Forces, Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, laughter, humor, and joy.
