Reliquary theca with relics of Saint Joseph Benedetto Cottolengo, founder of the Little House of Divine Providence

Reliquary theca housing Ex Ossibus (of the bone) relic of Saint Joseph Benedetto CottolengoThe relic is affixed to a red silk background decorated by golden paperolle and identified on a typographic cedula label as Ex Ossibus / S. J. B. Cottolengo (of the bone of Saint Joseph Benedetto Cottolengo). On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with perfectly preserved seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of a Roman Catholic Cardinal.

Saint Joseph Benedetto Cottolengo (†1842) was the founder of the Little House of Divine Providence known for his charity work in Pedmont region of Italy. He was Beatified in 1917 by Pope Benedict XV and Canonized in 1934 by Pope Pius XI. His is commemorated on April 30.
