Russian Orthodox Old-Believer's hand-carved wood pectoral cross of a priest or a monk. Depicting the Cross on Golgotha with Arma Christi on the front and the text of the Creed on the backside. Such items are characteristic of the Old-Believers workshops of the Vyg monastery in North-Western Russia founded in the 17th century shortly after the Russian Orthodox schism.
Very good original condition, with an original leather loop. The cross is slightly warped inwards from age.
