Large oval double-glass-paneled silver reliquary theca dating to the middle of the 18th-century housing relics of 12 important saints centered around particles from the Wood of the True Cross of Jesus Christ arranged in a cruciform shape. The theca contains relics of the following saints: Of the Vest of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Her spouse St. Joseph, St. Joachim and St. Anne – parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. John the Baptist, St. Zachariah and St. Elizabeth – parents of St. John the Baptist, St. John the Baptist, St. Louis, King of France, St. Peter the Apostle, St. Paul the Apostle, St. Hiacinth of Poland, and St. Aloysius de Gonzaga.
The relics are affixed to a red stamped metal background decorated around the border with natural pearls and identified in Latin on fancy manuscript cedulae labels. On the back, the theca is secured with a perfectly preserved seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of an unidentified Roman Catholic Archbishop. Comes in an original silk-lined case of Florentine leather decorated with stamped and gilt ornamentation.
