1992 Documented reliquary theca with relic of St. Paschal Baylon, the Seraph of the Eucharist

Round yellow-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relic of Saint Paschal Baylon. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as S. Pach. Bay. C.  (Saint Paschal Baylon, Confessor).  On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Order of Friars Minor. The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and sealed in 1992 by the Postulator General of the Order responsible for the Causes of Canonization.

Saint Paschal Baylon (†1592) is a saint in the Roman Catholic Church noted for the strict austerities he imposed upon himself and his love for and compassion towards the ill. He is known for his strong and deep devotion to the Eucharist. Pope Paul V beatified him in 1618 and Pope Alexander VIII canonized him in 1690. He is known as the "Seraph of the Eucharist" and is the patron saint of Eucharistic congresses and Eucharistic associations. His feast day is commemorated on May 17.
