1982 Documented reliquary theca with relic of Canadian Bl. Marie-Rose Durocher, founder of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary

Small round glass-fronted white-metal reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relic of Blessed Marie-Rose Durocher. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as B. Marie Rose Durocher (Blessed Marie-Rose Durocher). On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Congregation of Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and signed on 23 May 1982 (the very day of her beatification) by the Postulator General of the Congregation responsible for the cause of beatification and canonization.

Blessed Marie-Rose Durocher (†1849) was a Catholic educator and founder of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. From a devout family, she joined her brother, a priest, in pastoral work, managing his parish household and educating girls. Inspired to address the lack of schooling for girls, she founded her congregation in 1843, focusing on Christian education for the poor. Despite frail health, she led with humility until her death at 38. She was beatified by Pope John Paul II on 23 May 1982, her feast day is October 6.
