1988 Documented reliquary with relics of St. Philip Neri, the Apostle of Rome

Round white-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing the first-class ex praecordis  (of the inner organs) relic of the Saint Philip Romolo Neri. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as Ex Praecordis // S. Phil. Neri. (from the inner organs of Saint Philip Neri).  On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing letters "C.O." for "Confoederatio Oratorii" (the Congregation of the Oratory). The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and sealed in 1988 by the Congregation of the Oratory of Filippo Neri.

Saint Philip Romolo Neri, († 1595) was an Italian priest noted for founding a society of secular clergy called the Congregation of the Oratory of Filippo Neri, pioneering joyful spiritual gatherings with prayer, hymns, Scripture, and discussions—key to Counter-Reformation renewal. Dubbed the "Apostle of Rome" for his humility, humor, and miracles, he was canonized in 1622. He is considered to be a Patron of Rome, Mandaluyong, US Special Forces, Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, laughter, humor, and joy.

Congregation of the Oratory of Filippo Neri (Lat: Confoederatio Oratorii Sancti Philippi Nerii), abbreviated C.O. and commonly known as the Oratorians, is a Catholic society of apostolic life of pontifical right for men (priests and religious brothers) who live together in a community bound together by no formal vows but only with the bond of charity.
