The Theotokos is depicted in the iconography of Our Lady of Kazan is covered by a parcel-gilt silver revetment cover and held in the original glass-fronted shadowbox kiot frame that was restored to near-perfect condition. It is stamped with a ca. 1880s silver town mark for Moscow and a workmaster's initials mark ФМ for a well-known silversmith, Feodor Mishukov.
