1984 Documented reliquary theca with relics of Ecuadorian Saint Miguel Febres Cordero, La Salle Brother

Round yellow-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus  (of the bone) relic of Saint Miguel Febres Cordero. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as Ex Ossibus S. Michaelis Febres Corder. (of a bone of Saint Miguel Febres Cordero).  On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Brothers of the Christian Schools (the La Salle Brothers). The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and sealed in 1984 (the year of his beatification) by the Postulator General of the Order responsible for the Causes of Canonization.

Saint Miguel Febres Cordero (Francisco Luis Febres-Cordero y Muñoz) (†1910), known as Brother Miguel, was an Ecuadorian Roman Catholic religious brother. He became a professed member of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, colloquially known as the La Salle Brothers. He assumed the name Miguel upon his admittance into the order. He resided in his native home of Ecuador for almost four decades, where he promoted education and evangelization before he relocated to Spain, where he continued to perform his duties for his order. He also became a prolific writer and penned various manuals and odes, amongst other publications. Pope Paul VI beatified him in 1977, and Pope John Paul II canonized him on 21 October 1984 as the first male Ecuadorian saint. He remains a national hero in his native land, and his tomb has become a pilgrimage site. His liturgical feast is celebrated on 9 February.
