The Old Believer icon of Our Lady of the Unburnt Thornbush is exquisite. It arrived this morning and is now hanging in my icon corner, alongside the other beautiful antique icons that I have acquired from the Russian Store.

I received the very beautiful Entombment icon on Good Friday. Our priest carried it in the procession with The Holy Shroud. It was a great blessing and especially to receive it on Good Friday and take to the church in perfect timing. Thank You again and again ?? for the holy icons!!

Reliquary theca with a relic of the True Cross of Jesus Christ

An attractive ca. 18th century oval glass-fronted white metal reliquary pendant theca housing a relic of The True Cross of Christ. The particles of the Wood from the True Cross are arranged in a cruciform shape on a ground of red silk and surrounded by gilt silver wire ornamentation and identified in Latin on a fancy manuscript cedula label as Ex Ligno S.S-me. Crucis D.N.J.C. (from Wood of the most holy Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ). On the back, the reliquary is secured by a perfectly preserved seal of red Spanish wax with a coat of arms of an unidentified Roman Catholic Bishop.

Relics of the Wood from the True Cross are considered one of the most sacred and powerful relics in Christianity. Its use in a Catholic exorcism holds deep spiritual significance within the context of the Catholic faith.
