Russian Icon - Great Orthodox Feasts with Anastasis and Selected Saints

The icon depictes twelve principal feasts of the Orthodox church painted on the top and side registers and centered around Christ's Resurrection and Descent into the Hades. The Feasts are (from the top left corner - clockwise): the Nativity of The Virgin, Presentation of Mary at the Temple, the Old Testament Trinity, the Annunciation,  the Nativity of Christ, the Baptism of Christ, the Transfiguration of Christ, the Dormition Mother of God,  the Erection of the Cross, the Ascension of Christ, Entrance into Jerusalem,  and Presentation of Christ at the Temple.  On the bottom border selected saints are depicted: Saint John the Baptist, Saint Martyr Nikita, 4 saints and Saint Greatmartyr George the Victorybearer.
