Russian Icon - Balykinskaya Mother of God

The Balykinskaya icon of the Mother of God is a miraculous icon of the Most Holy Theotokos from the village of Balykina in the Starodubsky district of the Chernigov province (now - the Bryansk region). The Feast Day of the icon is celebrated on June 30 (July 13). According to Tradition, the icon was in the house of Pan Dulsky, who in 1709, during the Swedish war, when the Swedes walked past Starodub, noticed the appearance of tears from the eyes of the Theotokos on the icon. After that, Pan Dulsky made a vow to put the icon in the church, which would then be built. He hesitated for a long time with the transfer of the icon, but on August 4, 1711, after the appearance of the Mother of God in a dream to him, he transferred the icon to the poor Balykino parish.
