Reliquary theca with relics of Saint Liborius, Bishop of Le Mans

Oval crystal-fronted brass reliquary theca housing the first-class relic of Saint Liborius of Le Mans. The relic is centered on a red silk background decorated by gilt paperolle and silver wire ornamentation and identified on a paper cedula label as S. Libor. Epis. (Saint Luborius, Bishop). On the back, the theca is secured by a perfectly preserved seal of red Spanish wax with a clear imprint of a coat of arms of an unidentified Catholic Bishop.

Saint Liborius of Le Mans (†397) was the second Bishop of Le Mans. He is the patron saint of the cathedral and archdiocese of Paderborn in Germany.
