18th-century oval crystal-fronted silver reliquary theca housing first-class ex preacordis (of the inner organs) relic of Saint Philip Romolo Neri. The relic is affixed to a blue silk background decorated with gilt paperolle and silver cord ornamentation and identified on a manuscript cedula label as Ex Praecor / S Phil[ip] Ner[i] (Of the inner organs / of Saint Philip Neri). On the back, the theca is secured with a perfectly preserved seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of an unidentified Roman Catholic Bishop.
