St. Peter Tu (†1838) was a Vietnamese martyr who joined the Dominicans and became a priest in his own country. He was beheaded. Pope John Paul II canonized him in 1988. His Feastday is celebrated on September 5.
St. Matthew Alonso Leziniana, OP (†1745), was a Dominican priest from Spain who was martyred in Vietnam. He was born in Navas del Rey in Spain and became a Dominican priest. Assigned originally to the Philippines, he was later sent to Vietnam, where he was beheaded during the anti-Christian oppression. Pope John Paul II canonized him in 1988. His Feastday is celebrated on January 22
St. Vincent Yen Do († 1773) is venerated as a Martyr of Vietnam. VA native of Vietnam, he entered the Dominicans in 1808 and worked as a missionary in the country. Seized in the anti-Christian persecutions throughout Vietnam, he was beheaded after spending six years in hiding. Pope John Paul II canonized him in 1988.
