1990 Documented reliquary theca with relic of St. Charles of Sezze O.F.M.

Round white-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relic of Saint Charles of Sezze. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground decorated by silver wire and painted flowers and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as S. Caroli a Set. (Saint Charles of Sezze).  On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Order of Friars Minor. The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and sealed in 1990 by the Postulator General of the Order responsible for the Causes of Canonization.

Saint Charles of Sezze (†1670) was an Italian professed religious from the Order of Friars Minor. He became a monk despite the opposition of his parents, who wanted him to become a priest, and led an austere life doing menial tasks such as acting as a porter and gardener. He was highly esteemed across the Lazio region, with noble families praising him and seeking his counsel, as did popes such as Innocent X and Clement IX. He was beatified in 1882 and canonized in 1959 by Pope John XXIII. His feast is celebrated on 6 January.
