New Arrival
1974 Documented reliquary theca with relic of Bl. Frances Schervier TOSF

Round glass-fronted yellow-metal reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus  (of the bone) relic of Blessed Mary Frances Schervier. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a manuscript cedula label as B. Franciscae Schervier Virginis (Blessed Frances Schervier, Virgin).  On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Order of Friars Minor (commonly known as the Franciscans). The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and signed on 29 April 1974 (only a day after her beatification) by the Postulator General of the Order responsible for the cause of beatification and canonization.

Blessed Mary Frances Schervier, TOSF (3 January 1819 – 14 December 1876) was a German Catholic nun who founded two congregations of religious sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis, both committed to serving the neediest of the poor. One, the Poor Sisters of St. Francis, is based in her native Germany, and the other, the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor, was later formed from its province in the United States. Schervier was beatified by Pope Paul VI on 28 April 1974.
