New Arrival
1993 Documented reliquary theca with relic of Bl. Liborius Wagner, Martyr

Round glass-fronted yellow-metal reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relic of Blessed Liborius Wagner. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as B. Liborii Wagner (Blessed Liborius Wagner). On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Order of Friars Minor (commonly known as the Franciscans). The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and signed in 1993 by the Postulator General of the Order responsible for the cause of beatification and canonization.

Blessed Liborius Wagner (†1631) was a German Roman Catholic priest and martyr born in Mühlhausen to a Protestant family. He studied in Leipzig, Gotha, and Strasbourg before converting to Catholicism in Würzburg in 1622. Ordained in 1625, he served as a chaplain in Hardheim and later as parish priest in Altenmünster. During the Thirty Years’ War, Wagner ministered to all, fostering reconciliation despite religious divides. In 1631, Protestant Swedes captured and tortured him to renounce his faith. He refused and was martyred on December 9. Pope Paul VI beatified him in 1974.
