Theca with a first class ex ossibus relic of Saint Gerolamo Emiliani

Oval glass-fronted silver reliquary theca housing ex ossibus relic of Saint Gerolamo Emiliani. The relic is surrounded by twisted wire oranmentation and identified on a paper cedula as S. Hieronymi Emil and secured by perfectly preserved seal of red Spanish wax with coat of arms of a Catholic Bishop.

Saint Gerolamo Emiliani (†1537), was an Italian humanitarian, founder of the Somaschi Fathers. He was canonized in 1767 and is the patron saint of orphans and abandoned children.
