Saint John the Baptist known as the prophet Yahya in the Qur'an was a Jewish itinerant preacher in the early first century AD. Oval glass-fronted brass reliquary theca, containing first-class ex ossibus relic of Saint John the Baptist. The relic is affixed to red silk background and titled on a paper cedula in 19th century ductus as S.Joanis Bapt. Back of the theca is secured by a seal of red Spanish wax with a coat of arms of an Italian Archbishop.
