Theca with relics of the Girdle of the Blessed Virgin Mary and of the Staff of Saint Joseph

Oval silver theca decorated on the outside by twisted silver wire and housing rarely seen relics of the Girdle of the Blessed Virgin Mary and of the Staff of Her husband Saint Joseph. The relics are affixed to the background of multi-colored silk and identified on a paper cedula as ex Cingulo BVM / ex Baculo S. Joseph Sp. (from the Girdle of the Blessed Virgin Mary / of the Staff of her husband Saint Joseph. On the back, the theca is sealed by a partially preserved red wax seal with an imprint of a coat of arms of Fr. Giuseppe-Francisco Caffarena, the Vicar General to Gianni Lercari (†1802), the Archbishop of Genoa (1767-1802).
