Reliquary theca with relics of Saint Peter Damian, patron Saint of freerunners

Oval glass-fronted silver theca housing first-class relics of Saint Peter Damian.The relic is affixed to a multi-color silk background surrounded by golden paperole and twisted silver wire ornamentation and titled on a handwritten cedula label as S. Petri Damiani C. (Saint Peter Damian, Confessor).  On the back, the theca is secured with a perfectly preserved red wax seal with a coat of arms of a Catholic Bishop.

Saint Peter Damian (†1073) was a reforming Benedictine monk and cardinal in the circle of Pope Leo IX. Dante Alighieri placed him in one of the highest circles of Paradiso as a great predecessor of Saint Francis of Assisi and he was declared a Doctor of the Church in 1828. He is a Patron Saint of traceurs, forerunners and his feast day is 21 February.
