Reliquary theca with relics of Saint Cajetan (Gaetano dei Conti di Thiene), Patron of Bankers

Oval brass glass-fronted theca housing first-class ex ossibus relic of Saint Cajetan. The relic is affixed to a gilt paper starburst on a red silk background and identified on a manuscript cedula label as S. Cajetani Thie.  On the back,  the theca is secured by a seal of red Spanish wax with an imprint of a coat of arms of Fr. Giuseppe Palermo O.E.S.A. (†1856), Titular Bishop of Porphyreon (1855–1856).

Saint Cajetan (Gaetano dei Conti di Thiene) (†1547) was an Italian Catholic priest and religious reformer, who helped found the Congregation of Theatines. Saint Cajetan was beatified in 1629 and canonized in 1671. His feast day is celebrated on August 7. He is the patron saint of bankers; gamblers; unemployed people; workers; non-gamblers; document controllers; job seekers; Albania; Italy; Ħamrun (Malta); Argentina; Brasil; El Salvador; and Guatemala.
