1992 Documented reliquary theca with relic of the Polish Blessed Angela Salawa OFS

Round glass-fronted yellow-metal reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus  (of the bone) relic of the Blessed Angela Salawa. A relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as Ex Ossibus / B. Angelae Salawa (of the bone of the Blessed Angela Salawa).  On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured by a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Postulator General of the Order of Servants of Mary (The Servite Order). The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued by the Order on 10 June 1992.

Blessed Angela Salawa OSF (†1922) was a Polish woman who became a member of the Secular Franciscan Order and worked in hospitals throughout World War I. She later became sick due to working alongside the sick and died in 1922 alone in the world, living in a basement room, abandoned by family, friends and neighbors. On the road to sainthood Pope John Paul II beatified her on 13 August 1991.
