Round yellow-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing first-class ex ossibus  (of the bone) relics of Saint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as S. Gabriel  a V. P. C. ( Saint Gabriel  Priest, Passionist Congregation).  On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing a imprint of an unidentified Roman Catholic Bishop.

Saint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows (†1862) was an Italian Passionist clerical student. Born to a professional family, he gave up hopes of a secular career to enter the Passionist Congregation. His life in the monastery was not extraordinary, yet he followed the rule of the congregation perfectly and was known for his great devotion to the sorrows of the Virgin Mary. He died from tuberculosis at the age of 24. He was canonized by Pope Benedict XV in 1920 and His Feast day is celebrated on 27 February and he is considered a patron saint of Students, Youth, Clerics, Seminarians
