Pope Hilarius (or Hilary) (†468) was the bishop of Rome from 19 November 461 to his death. Much of his pontificate was spent in maintaining ecclesiastical discipline in conformity with canon law, and in settling jurisdictional disputes among the bishops of both Gaul and Spain. He is venerated as a saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church as one of the pre-Schism "Orthodox Popes of Rome". His feast day is 28 February.
Pope Simplicius (†483) was the bishop of Rome from 468 to his death. He combated the Eutychian heresy, ended the practice of consecrating bishops only in December, and sought to offset the effects of Germanic invasions. He is venerated as a saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church as one of the pre-Schism "Orthodox Popes of Rome". His feast day is 10 March.
