2004 Documented reliquary theca with relic of the Blessed Marie-Joseph Cassant O.C.S.O.

Round yellow-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus  (of the bone) relic of the Blessed Marie-Joseph Cassan. The substantial relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as Bx. M-J. Cassan // ex ossibus (of the bone of the Blessed Marie-Joseph Cassan).  On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Trappists Order. The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and sealed in 2003 by the Postulator General of the Order responsible for the Causes of Canonization.

Blessed Pierre-Joseph Cassant O.C.S.O.(†1903) was a French Roman Catholic priest and professed member of the Trappists who received the religious name of Marie-Joseph. He was known for his strong determination to his studies to fulfill his lifelong wish of being ordained to the priesthood. Cassant suffered from extreme tuberculosis around the time of his ordination and died not long after he was made a priest. Pope John Paul II celebrated his beatification on 3 October 2004 and his feast day is celebrated on 17 June.
