Saint Joseph Nien Vien P.M. (†1840) was a Catholic Martyr of Vietnam who was beheaded by anti-Christian officials for refusing to deny Christ. Pope John Paul II canonized him in 1988 and his Feastday is celebrated on August 21.
Saint Melchor García Sanpedro O.P. (†1858) - was Catholic martyr of Vietnam, missionary, member of the Dominican monastic order, and bishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of Central Tonkin, Vietnam. He was arrested and executed on July 28, 1858. On April 29,he was beatified in 1951 by Pope Pius XII and on June 19, 1988, canonized by Pope John Paul II, as part of the group of 117 Vietnamese martyrs. His feast day is celebrated on November 24th.
Saint Peter Tuan P.M. (†1838) - was Catholic martyr of Vietnam. A native priest, he was arrested by Vietnamese authorities and suffered such grievous tortures while in prison that he died before they could carry out the order of execution by beheading. Pope John Paul II canonized him in 1988, as part of the group of 117 Vietnamese martyrs. His feast day is celebrated on July 15th.
